From the beginning, the MPSI story has been one of vision and determination. Ronald Harper started the business in 1970 working out of a small room in his Tulsa home. He had $500 in working capital and no tangible product to sell. What he did have was the concept of a computer model that could help petroleum marketers select the best sites for their outlets. His concept was quickly put to the test when a US petroleum company asked him to evaluate sites in a specific market. The one-man MPSI operation successfully met the challenge and MPSI has since grown into a global company serving more than 400 customers in 80 countries. Although still one of the world’s most acclaimed site selection providers, with over 2,000,000 locations evaluated, today MPSI markets a host of decision support tools and information services for site evaluation, retail network planning, market evaluations, volume and sales revenue projections, fuels price management, fuels price optimization, retail price data and more.
